The Service Skills Institute (trading as ServiceIQ) has had its transition plan approved by the Board of the Tertiary Education Commission.

ServiceIQ is the industry training organisation for the aviation, hospitality, retail, travel, tourism and museum sectors. It supports 800 employers, and 10,200 learners including 2,200 apprentices as at November 2021.

It maintains over 70 training programmes and one micro-credential.

ServiceIQ will transfer its arranging training functions, learners and employees into Te Pūkenga’s Work-Based Learning Ltd (WBL) on 1 July 2022, where it will become a separate business division.

Responsibility for its qualifications development, pre- and post-moderation, consent to assess, and programme endorsement moved to the new Ringa Hora – Services Workforce Development Council (WDC) on 4 October 2021.

ServiceIQ is the sixth TITO to have its transition plan approved by the Board. It follows Competenz, NZMAC ITO, Connexis, BCITO and MITO.
