Discover the Career Practice Hub
The Career Practice Hub is an online resource designed for people working in the careers field. It brings together:
- trusted tools and activities for working in a one-on-one and group context
- best practice guidance to support quality career education
- insights and strategies to strengthen career practice.
The Hub will keep growing with new content and tools to meet the evolving needs of the careers workforce and the communities they service.
Supporting the careers workforce
The Hub is for anyone working in the careers field, including:
- educators and career practitioners in schools, kura kaupapa Māori and tertiary organisations
- private career practitioners
- community groups, iwi and youth development organisations
- employers and employment specialists
- government agencies involved in education, employment and youth development.
By using the Hub, people working in the careers field strengthen their practice and skills to provide quality careers education, information, advice and guidance. The Hub helps them to give people the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to make informed career decisions and manage transitions throughout their lives.
Driving the National Careers System Strategy forward
The Career Practice Hub is a key contributor to the National Careers System Strategy and its Action Plan. It provides resources that directly support the Strategy’s goals to:
- grow quality careers support by improving access to high-quality, future-focused resources
- ensure equitable access to careers education, information, advice and guidance for all New Zealanders
- strengthen connections across the careers system, including practitioners, educators, communities, employers and government agencies.
The Hub also delivers on early actions in the Action Plan by:
- developing and sharing quality careers information
- supporting capability building within the careers workforce.
These initiatives help create a stronger, more connected careers system to ensure all New Zealanders can get the support they need.
