Earlier this year, Professor Martin Carroll, Deputy Chief Executive at Unitec and MIT, and Associate Professor James Oldfield, Unitec’s Digital Learning Manager, presented an overview of AI-powered Ako Agents across Unitec and MIT at a Learner Success Community of Practice (COP) session.

Ako Agents are specialist chatbots integrated into the Unitec and MIT Learning Management System. They are designed to provide timely and course-specific academic support. They do this through tutoring and providing feedback, as well as supporting skills practice and simulating scenarios, such as interactions between nurses and patients.

Attendees at this COP session also got to learn from the learners, who shared their experiences and insights using Ako Agents.
