The Government officially launched its Construction Skills Action Plan on 4 October 2018. The action plan is designed to address the skills shortages in the construction sector.
The Construction Skills Action Plan has six components, one of which is being led by TEC – Growing Construction Careers and Credentials (PDF 241 KB).
Through this initiative, TEC will work with the sector to promote careers in construction, support micro-credentials for the construction industry, and help promote group training schemes.*
More information on this initiative will be provided late in 2019.
* Group training schemes act as entities that can contract apprentices and then place them in firms where they get work experience and on-job training.
