The aim of this course is to help learners develop the academic English skills needed for study at a polytechnic, college or university in an English-speaking country at undergraduate or postgraduate level. The course is an accredited pathway that fulfils English entry requirements to New Zealand universities. You will focus on the texts and tasks you will need to work on when at university.
For example, you will:

The course helps you to communicate fluently and accurately in English. It is a comprehensive language programme with a strong focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The course also aims to build grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation knowledge. We try to link to New Zealand topics and texts whenever we can and there are lots of options to personalise your study. The full-time course includes a focus on reading and writing on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, as well as a range of optional classes such as conversation and business.
