Learners need a whole range of supports at various times of their lives. The development and support of partnerships between a tertiary education provider and relevant employers/industry, learners, family and whānau, hapū, iwi and community groups, social agencies and education providers can help to reduce barriers to educational success and create cross-sector pathways into study and career opportunities.
In this Partnerships Learner Success Capability session representatives from across the sector showcase their partnership approaches:
- Professor Vaughan Bidois, Executive Director Academic – Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi
- Erica Cumming, General Manager Engagement and Partnerships – Waihanga Ara Rau (Workforce Development Council)
- Tauira (students) and Janelle Blythe, Student Experience Manager – Lincoln University
- Peter Jones, Principal – Manurewa High School.
Sector showcases different organisational approaches to learner success in capability sessions
These learner success capability sessions showcase how different organisations are becoming more learner-centric. The learner success capabilities are the key elements a tertiary education provider needs to get right to enable learners to succeed, whatever that looks like for each learner.
The goals of these sessions are to bring together tertiary providers in the spirit of learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, as well as to enhance individual, group, and organisational development.
We will continue to roll-out recordings of the Learner Success Capability Sessions over the coming months.
