After 18 months, the Cyber Security for the Tertiary Sector (CSTS) initiative closes on Thursday 27 June. CSTS made significant progress over this time and realised its goal of boosting cyber security awareness and capability in tertiary education organisations, big and small.

In July 2023, the Ministry of Education consulted with the sector on the funding determinations (also known as the funding mechanisms) and fee regulation settings for 2024.
The Minister of Education has now approved the final determinations, fee regulation settings, Fees Free and Tūwhitia delegations which take effect from 1 January 2024.
