  • Te Tauihu o Ngā Wānanga

    A collective national association comprised of representatives from the three wānanga: Te Wānanga o Raukawa, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, and Te Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.

  • TEC

    The Tertiary Education Commission.

  • TEC Qualifications Register

    The Qualifications Register within DXP Ngā Kete.

  • TEO-led WLN

    TEO-led Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (TEO-led WLN) Fund funding supports the delivery of literacy and numeracy programmes for employees to increase their literacy and numeracy skills, and to contribute to workplace productivity. 

  • Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice

    The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 makes sure that tertiary and international learners enrolled with New Zealand education providers are safe and supported.
    The Code sets out what education providers must do to ensure the wellbeing and safety of their learners.

  • Tertiary education institution (TEI)

    An institution as defined in section 10 of the Education and Training Act. The Crown has an ownership interest in TEIs, which include universities, polytechnics, the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology and wānanga.

  • Tertiary education organisation (TEO)

     A tertiary education organisation as defined in section 10 of the Education and Training Act:
    (a) a tertiary education provider:
    (b) a workforce development council:
    (c) an individual or body that—
    (i) provides tertiary education-related services; and
    (ii) is identified as a tertiary education organisation by the Minister by notice.

  • Tertiary education provider

    Any of the following:
    (a) an institution;
    (b) a registered establishment;
    (c) a government training establishment;
    (d) any other person or body that provides, or proposes to provide, tertiary education and that is funded through non-departmental output classes from Vote Education.

  • Tertiary Education Strategy (TES)

    The Tertiary Education Strategy (TES) sets out the Government's long-term strategic direction for tertiary education; and its current and medium-term priorities for tertiary education.  It is required under the Education and Training Act 2020.
