Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs)
The Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs) focus on developing strong links with North Asia, Southeast Asia and Latin America, facilitating collaboration between tertiary institutions and other stakeholders to support language development, research and knowledge of each region, and to strengthen networks and relationships.

Centres of Research Excellence (CoREs)
Centres of Research Excellence (CoREs) are inter-organisational research networks, with researchers working together on commonly agreed work programmes.

Certificate of Proficiency (CoP)
A Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) is a certificate awarded to a learner in recognition of achievement through assessment in a single course or a selection of courses from one or more approved qualifications. This does not include Certificates of Personal Interest.

Code of Good Practice for New Zealand Apprenticeships
Sets out the responsibilities and expectations of all parties involved in a New Zealand Apprenticeship: the apprentice, the employer and the tertiary education organisation.

Cohort
A group of people who share common characteristics or experiences within a defined timespan. May be characteristic-based (eg, ethnicity, gender); event-based (eg, left school, enrolled in tertiary education); or both (eg, Māori students who left school in 2023).

Cohort-based qualification completion rate
The cohort-based qualification completion rate measures how many learners in a starting cohort go on to complete a qualification at the same level after a given amount of time.

Commitments
A webform or CSV file used in the DXP Ngā Kete online data platform. It collects a tertiary education organisation's (TEO's) mix of provision (MoP) or Educational Performance Indicator Commitments (EPICs) as part of the Investment Plan process.

Community Education Provider (CEP)
A community organisation that is not registered or quality assured by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

Component Course
Part of a programme leading to a qualification or part of a micro-credential, including single courses, limited credit programmes (LCP) and supplementary credit programmes (SCP).

Conditions
The Funding Conditions that apply to tertiary education organisation (TEO) funding, including any statutory Funding Conditions set out in the Education and Training Act.
