  • Allocation

    The approved allocation for each provider or fund as decided by the relevant delegated authority.

  • AMFM

    The Annual Maximum Fee Movement (AMFM) policy sets limits on fees that tertiary education organisations can change learners enrolled in courses funded through the Delivery at Levels 3 to 7 (non-degree) on the NZQCF (DQ3-7) and Delivery at Levels 7 (degree) to 10 on the NZQCF (DQ7-10) Funds.

  • Application for Funding

    The documents submitted by TEOs in relation to off-Plan funding or, if you are exempt under clause 9 of Schedule 18 of the Education and Training Act from the requirement to provide an Investment Plan, the documents submitted by you in relation to on-Plan funding.

  • Apprentice

    A person receiving Apprenticeship training. 

  • Apprenticeship Boost

    Part of the Government’s wider Apprenticeship Support Programme – a cross-agency response to help employers support their employees in formal training including apprenticeships.

  • Appropriation

    The Government's assignment of money for a special purpose, generally through its annual Budget.

  • AQA

    The Academic Quality Agency is an independent body established and owned by Universities New Zealand, which reviews academic quality monitoring systems and advises on good practice and quality-assurance issues.

  • Award

    (a)  A certificate, diploma, degree or other qualification listed on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework; 
    (b) A certificate or other document granted in recognition of a student’s achievement in and completion of a micro-credential.

  • Careers system

    A wide range of individuals and organisations that deliver careers information, education and advice, supporting others to achieve their career aspirations. 

  • Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE)

    A group from across a sector that works together to grow excellent vocational provision, and share high-quality curriculum and programme design across the vocational education system.
