We run an annual wash-up around March or April each year for the previous calendar year.

A wash-up is money that we either:

  • pay to a tertiary education organisation (TEO), usually for over-delivery in a calendar year (eg, Flexible Funding), or
  • recover from a TEO, usually for under-delivery in a calendar year.

We calculate wash-ups for each fund using a set of methodologies and make these available through the My Allocations and Payments app on Ngā Kete.
