It was induction day for the Institute of Skills & Technology Establishment Board in Wellington recently and the Board heard from a range of speakers including Minister of Education, Chris Hipkins.

The Minister had a good conversation with the Board about a range of issues and was able to talk through key questions with the Minister.

The Board also heard from key government officials from the Tertiary Education Commission, Ministry of Education and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Chair Barry Jordan says diversity was important when thinking about who would be on the Board.

“I’m proud that we have such good mix of hard-working people from across the sector, ITPs and ITOs, business and unions. It’s important to me that we have a good gender balance and a Māori perspective. I feel confident we can get the job done.”

There will be further updates from the Board in future issues of RoVE News.
