There will now be an additional $1 million available from the 2023 PTE Strategic Fund, bringing the total available to $16.8 million.

As signalled earlier this year we have worked with individual PTEs on the data which informed initial allocations of funding. As a result of this work and the decision to include ICT provision as a strategic priority area there have been adjustments to 2023 transition funding for the sector.

The 90 PTEs who made a total of 121 applications under the 2023 PTE Strategic Fund are expected to receive their indicative outcomes early next week and will then have a 10-day right of response.  All TEOs should also receive their Funding Confirmation Letters from TEC over the next four to six weeks as part of the overall investment round process.

“I want to acknowledge the huge work that so many PTEs put into their Strategic Fund proposals,” said Gillian Dudgeon, TEC Deputy Chief Executive, Delivery.  “We were pleased with the overall quality of the applications we received and could see that many had worked hard to align their proposals with the strategic intent of the Fund as well as TEC’s overall strategic priorities.

Not all sectors or regions have been as well represented as others and so we will continue to work with the sector on potential future opportunities over coming months.

“Following on the from the co-design process we undertook with the sector on how to run this round, we have gone through a rigorous assessment process of all the applications and in some cases gone back to PTEs for clarifications. We have certainly learned a lot along the way. We will be undertaking a review of this year’s round, and we will most definitely engage with the PTE sector to support this and to incorporate key learnings into next year’s process.”
