The Construction Centre of Vocational Excellence ConCOVE Tūhura has introduced a new fund to encourage industry and education training providers to produce innovative and fresh projects that deliver beneficial outcomes to learners, employers and industry.

The fund is aimed at both the construction and infrastructure industries. With the project fund made available to the wider sectors, ConCOVE Tūhura aims to crowdsource and invest in practical research projects that both assess the long-term needs of the industry and explore ways to address these needs with quality vocational education and training.

“We don’t want to leave any great initiatives behind. So, we are inviting our sectors to tell us whatthey’d like to explore,” said ConCOVE’s Executive Director, Katherine Hall. “Our portfolio management office will work with applicants to bring ideas to life.”

ConCOVE is looking for proposals with beneficial outcomes for one or more of ConCOVE’s priority groups – Māori, Pasifika and women – that seek to improve workforce productivity or workforce culture. Proposals should also align with one or more of ConCOVE’s strategic themes, including:

  • Entry
  • Career Progression
  • Innovation and Disruptive Technologies
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Environmental Sustainability.
