Establishing the six Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) as legal entities and appointing the new Councils is a priority.

To support this work, a new WDC Establishment Unit has recently been set up within the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE) programme.  Julian Moore is heading the unit.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the transformation of vocational education and to be part of the work to establish six new industry governed and led organisations,” Julian said.

“With previous experience working in education sector change, I wanted to contribute to the transformation of the sector as part of RoVE, and to bring my skills and experience to support the WDCs becoming operational.”

The WDC Establishment Unit will continue to work with the interim Establishment Boards and also work closely with the Transitional Industry Training Organisations to achieve the key milestones.

Unit staff are currently undertaking detailed planning work and, as part of this, Julian has been meeting with many of our key partners and stakeholders.

“We are working together to deliver the requirements to support the building of these new industry led organisations,” he said.

We will keep you regularly updated on this work.
