The 15 Regional Skills Leadership Groups (RSLGs) begin publicly releasing their actions plans for current and future workforce skills development in our regions and cites this week.

Regional Workforce Plans (RWPs) have been a year or longer in the making and have been created with input from local communities. Each plan is distinctive to its region and focuses on regional solutions to regional problems.

RWPs will be launched progressively from early July to early August, starting with Taranaki today. They’ll be added to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment website as they are launched.

In developing their plans, RSLGs – independent advisory groups appointed to lead coordinated labour market planning – have already made an impact, bringing different groups together to find a regional way forward on common concerns. The plans, which will be refreshed annually, set out actions the RSLG will lead and progress in partnership with regional stakeholders.

RSLGs will use the release of the plans to further engage with their regional community. The plans are long term in focus and largely identify priority focus areas for the next 12 months.
