How tertiary education organisations (TEOs) report on Trades Academies funding, and how we monitor their performance.

Reporting

Single Data Return (SDR)/Industry Training Register (ITR)

The non-school component for all Trades Academy enrolments must be reported through either:

  • the SDR or,
  • the ITR (industry training organisations (ITOs) only).

If you’re reporting through the SDR, please use Source of Funding (SoF) 24
If you’re reporting through the ITR, please use Source of Funding (SoF) TA.

Manual reporting

In addition, the Trades Academy lead provider must report to the Ministry of Education (MoE) and us three times a year.

  • January to March report – includes information on student numbers, student demographics, student retention from the previous year, and participating schools.
  • January to June report – covers student demographics, and student achievement, attendance and destinations for the first half of the year.
  • June to December report – an aggregated report for the full year, covering all performance requirements. Includes an aggregate of the data submitted in the previous report and data collected between June and December.

Please see the Reporting Guidance (PDF 440 KB) (PDF, 439 Kb).

Monitoring

We, along with the Ministry of Education (MoE), review each provider’s March and August reports, and use these to make in-year variations on funding agreements.
