Use of the TEC Logo

The TEC logo can only be used by:

  • Commissioners and TEC staff members on all official correspondence, presentations and publications;
  • Suppliers to the TEC, working on official business, eg. printers, signwriters, publishers and advertisers.

Tertiary education organisations (TEOs) may not use the TEC logo.

The only exceptions are TEOs who are contractually required to use TEC programme logos in their advertising, as a confirmation of their authenticity. In these cases, the special programme logos should be used.

The TEC logo is made up of two equally important elements: the symbol and the names. These elements must never be separated or redrawn, nor their relative proportions altered.

The type used for the names has been specifically typeset and must never be rearranged or reset.

The TEC Communications Group Manager is responsible for managing the use of the TEC logo.

The TEC Communications team holds electronic images of the TEC logo for use in publications. All requests for supply of the TEC logo must be forwarded to the TEC Communications team at media@tec.govt.nz.
