Adult and Community Education

About Adult and Community Education quality assurance

Organisations receiving Adult and Community Education (ACE)  funding are required to meet the ACE quality assurance arrangements detailed in the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) publication "Quality Assurance Funding Arrangements for Providers of ACE".

Rule TRA009: Activities to be undertaken by tertiary education organisations in meeting the Adult and Community Education (ACE) quality assurance arrangements include:

  • support of programme design in the ACE priority areas that meet identified community learning needs
  • support for the development and maintenance of systems and practices that underpin ongoing quality assurance, including a annual self-review of those systems and practices
  • participating in TEC ACE Network activities and collaborating with other ACE providers, including jointly funded activities
  • preparation for Education Review Office (ERO) or New Zealand Qualifications Authority review or quality audits.

Rule TRA011: Organisations receiving Adult and Community Education (ACE) funding must do both the following:

  • Meet external audit and review requirements for ACE quality assurance
  • Complete an annual self-review of the ACE quality assurance action plan.
