TEO Component funding

About TEO Component funding

The TEO Component provides funding towards a range of costs that tertiary education organisations (TEOs) incur by focussing on their specific and distinctive roles within the network of provision.

The TEO Component comprises six elements. Together these support the areas critical to ensuring TEOs' capability and maintaining a responsive and effective network of provision. The six elements are split into two groups.

The TEO Core Component includes:

  1. The TEI Base Investment (including Equity Loading and Universities Tripartite funding)
  2. ITO Core Component
  3. The Performance-Based Research Fund (PBRF)
  4. Priorities for Focus.

The TEO Strategic Component includes:

  1. Supporting Change
  2. Encouraging and Supporting Innovation

Not all elements are available to each TEO.
