Ako Aotearoa National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence

The government funds Ako Aotearoa to promote and support effective teaching and learning across the entire tertiary sector in New Zealand.

Ako Aotearoa is based in Wellington with hubs at partner organisations in Auckland, Palmerston North and Christchurch.

Ako Aotearoa supports all tertiary education organisations (TEOs) and groups who work with teachers and students, including existing networks and professional bodies, while remaining relevant and accessible to individual teachers.

Ako Aotearoa continues to build and maintain networks to spread individuals’ and organisations’ best practice right through the sector.

The Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards are hosted by Ako Aotearoa.
