This page provides information about funding for DualPathways Pilot provision in 2018.

Tertiary education providers funded for DualPathways Pilot provision in 2017

If you are funded to deliver a DualPathways Pilot programme in 2017, we will discuss with you DualPathways Pilot funding for 2018 and any proposed increase or decrease for your organisation.

We want to hear your perspective on your success in:

  • working with partner schools to enrol eligible learners
  • delivering the volume of DualPathways Pilot provision committed to, and
  • working with employers/industry to transition learners from the DualPathways Pilot to employment and further tertiary education.

We also want to hear your DualPathways Pilot plans for 2018. Consider our qualification priority for funding in 2018; that we are prioritising funding to industry relevant qualifications at level 3 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

See Overview (Key focus for 2018), and Eligibility (Programme eligibility).

Indicative allocation

We will determine an indicative allocation for your organisation, and communicate this to you in writing. The indicative allocation may be a decrease, an increase or a rollover of 2017 funding.

See Funding and payments (Funding allocation) for further information.

Mix of Provision (MoP)

Using the template we provide, you will then need to submit your 2018 DualPathways Pilot MoP by the due date we give (November).

Your MoP will need to show what qualifications you intend to use your DualPathways Pilot allocation for.

We will evaluate the qualifications against our programme eligibility criteria and our DualPathways Pilot funding priorities. We will then either agree to the MoP or discuss proposed changes with you.

Funding will only be approved for tertiary education providers that submit an acceptable DualPathways Pilot MoP in advance of the funding year. However, we will consider a funded tertiary education provider’s request to add an additional qualification to its MoP during the funding year, if the qualification meets Programme eligibility requirements.

Final funding decision

We will make a final funding decision for your organisation via the Investment Plan (Plan) approval process. If you are on a two or three year Plan this will be through our approval of the DualPathways Pilot MoP that you submit.

Plan approval is subject to our consideration of:

  • our and NZQA’s information about your financial viability, accreditation, compliance with funding conditions, and organisational capability and capacity, and our audit findings
  • your Plans (including your DualPathways Pilot MoP) alignment with your mission and role, and place within the regional and national tertiary education system, and
  • our agreement to funding and timeframes for implementation of your DualPathways Pilot programme.

We will notify you via a funding confirmation letter about your approved funding allocation and the conditions of DualPathways Pilot funding.

We will fund your DualPathways Pilot programme(s) in 2018 only.

We may require you to evaluate the pilot with us, so that we may share what we have learned from successful programmes.

Tertiary education providers not yet funded for DualPathways Pilot provision

The application process for 2018 DualPathways Pilot funding (for tertiary education providers not yet being funded to provide DualPathways Pilot provision) has closed.

Funding decisions will be made as soon as possible to assist tertiary education providers and schools plan for delivery in 2018. Funding decisions will be made through the Plan approval process, including approval of the MoP you submit.

Successful applications

Indicative allocation

We will communicate an indicative allocation to each successful applicant in writing.

We will evaluate the qualifications against our programme eligibility criteria and our DualPathways Pilot funding priorities. We will then either agree to the MoP or discuss proposed changes with you.
