Other tertiary education providers

OTEPs[1] are TEOs that received funding at some point under section 321 of the Education Act 1989. Criteria for funding under section 321 includes whether TEOs[2] provide a service that is in New Zealand’s national interest and cannot generally be funded via other means.

Most OTEPs currently receive mainstream funds.

OTEPs cover a wide range of education from dance and drama to studies in agriculture.

The types of funding accessed by OTEPs include ACE[3], intensive literacy and numeracy provision, SAC[4], Training Opportunities, Youth Training and workplace literacy.
