The New Zealand Vice-Chancellors' Committee (NZVCC) is responsible for the approval and quality assurance of university qualifications.
The approval and oversight of the quality of new qualifications and substantial changes to academic programmes is undertaken by the Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP), a standing committee of the NZVCC.
The New Zealand Universities Academic Audit Unit, an independent body established by NZVCC, is responsible for the audit of processes and the enhancement of quality.
