Rule ENR042: Admission and enrolment - requirements

Tertiary education organisations may design and use their own internal policies and processes for managing learner admission and enrolment as long so they cover all 11 steps below and meet the requirements of the Education Act 1989:

  1. The TEO provides information on qualifications, including courses
  2. The learner applies to the TEO for admission and enrolment (separately or together)
  3. The TEO verifies the learner’s identity and citizenship
  4. The TEO confirms the learner’s eligibility to study
  5. The TEO makes a formal offer to enrol the learner on a course or programme of study
  6. The learner formally accepts the offer by signing it
  7. The TEO records the enrolment
  8. The TEO invoices the learner for any tuition fees
  9. The learner pays any tuition fees or arranges for them to be paid
  10. The TEO records payment of any fees and any changes to enrolment, including withdrawal and refunds
  11. The learner attends the course(s) beyond the period when a withdrawal with a refund applies.
