What happens if the programme hours or numbers of learners are below the expected level at the time of the May progress report?

Type:
Question

If the programme hours or numbers of learners were below the expected hours or numbers of learners at this point, a TEC Performance Analyst has called to discuss with the provider whether or not they expect to meet their agreed performance targets. The intention of this was to help providers avoid incurring a debt as a result of under-delivery.

Providers may have chosen to adjust their agreed performance targets or place their monthly payments on hold to alleviate the need for recovery of funding at a later date.

Note: The TEC defined ‘expected hours and number of learners’ as at end of May as 40% of the total funded for the year. This is an indicative figure only.
