Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, the Boating Industry Training Organisation is granted full recognition to set standards at Levels 1 to 10 on the National Qualifications Framework for the design, building and manufacturing of yachts and boats from small dinghies to ocean-going motor and sail yachts up to an overall length of 120 metres (400 feet), and marine oriented supporting activities such as the buying and selling of craft, maintenance and servicing of these vessels (excluding power boat servicing), for five years with effect from 1 May 2005.

Extension of Coverage for the Boating Industry Training Organisation

Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992 An extension of coverage is given to the Boating Industry Training Organisation with effect from September 2007 to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the composites industry (excluding aeronautical composites, which are covered by the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation).
