Educational performance by type of tertiary provider – new methodology
We publish information on the performance of tertiary education organisations (TEOs) based on agreed educational performance indicators.
Our Educational Performance Indicator (EPI) reports are designed to help TEOs manage and monitor their own performance and to deliver on their agreed tertiary education services.
New rates used to calculate two EPIs
The reports on this page are our new EPI reports using a new methodology which we developed after consultation with the sector. The reports provide a view of educational performance indicators for the 2015 year using cohort-based qualification completion and first-year retention rates. This is the first year we have published these rates.

The information in these EPI reports includes learners we have funded as well as learners who have been funded through other sources, for example, international students.
Note that the effects of the Canterbury earthquakes may have had an impact on student performance for Canterbury-based TEOs.
More details about what each of the indicators show are also available.

Use the drop down boxes to look up the EPI report for each TEO. Note there are currently no Cohort-based EPI reports for ITOs.
Where to go for additional information
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the Academic Quality Agency for New Zealand Universities (AQA) undertake external reviews of the quality of tertiary providers and publish review reports on their websites.
Where there are less than 10 learners reported in a TEO's report the figure has been suppressed and replaced with an asterisk along with any total that could be used to derived the suppressed figure.
