English for speakers of other languages

ESOL[1] education is provided by a range of TEOs[2]. This may be funded by the government through Adult and Community education, Bilingual Tutor grants (until 2010), Academic Migrant grants (until 2011), English for Migrants (available only to migrants with pre-paid ESOL course costs via Immigration NZ), Intensive Literacy and Numeracy provision, the ESOL Assessment Service (until 2010) and Refugee Study grants (until 2011).
