Eligible programme combinations

For a programme or programme combination to be eligible for assessment for Long Programme recognition, all of the following criteria must first be met:

  • The programme or programme combination is a qualification that has been recognised by the relevant quality assurance body, and meets the other student allowance criteria (excluding length) under Regulation 20 of the Student Allowances Regulations 1998
  • The programme or programme combination has not previously been recognised as a Long Programme
  • The period sought to be recognised is the minimum required for completion of the qualification, or programme combination. This period must exclude any paid period of study such as paid practicums
  • The programme of study must represent the most direct route to the final qualification
  • Proposals for Long Programme recognition must be endorsed by the relevant quality assurance body as academically desirable.
