Categories of Long Programme
Recognised Long Programmes generally fall into two categories:
- progression in a subject, such as Bachelors/Masters/PhD
- individual qualifications requiring extended study, often with a prerequisite requirement, for example a Bachelor of Medicine or a Bachelor of Chiropratic.
Some postgraduate programmes can be studied concurrently without reducing the total time required to complete the combination. Concurrent study can be approved for Long Programme recognition.
Conjoint degrees at undergraduate level, however, are not eligible for recognition as Long Programmes unless they meet other criteria.
