Sub-contracting on-Plan delivery

Sub-contracted provision will only be SAC funded on the basis outlined in Condition SAC356[1].

TEOs are responsible for provision they subcontract to other organisations. For example, the key performance indicators set out in a TEO’s Investment Plan apply to any subcontracted provision funded through that Investment Plan.

Subcontracted provision must meet any relevant quality assurance requirements.

ITPs cannot subcontract out of region provision unless it is formally approved us as part of the Investment Plan.

Subcontracted provision must be formally declared by the TEO as part of the Investment Plan process. We may, as part of Plan approval, impose conditions on subcontracting arrangements if we have concerns about the relevance, quality or delivery of the provision, or concerns about the subcontracted party.

Subcontracted provision for Student Achievement Component funding will only be funded on the following basis:

    • The tertiary education organisation (TEO) is responsible for the subcontracted provision as if it delivered the provision itself
    • Where a subcontracted organisation ceases to operate, the principal TEO will provide alternative support for the learners affected until the learners have completed their programme of study.
