Unacceptable offers
The following list provides examples of unacceptable offers, subject to specific offers being assessed against the inducement principles - if in doubt, TEOs should seek advice from us:
- Money back simply for successful course completion
- Retention of reusable learning aids or tools
- Provision of any item that learners do not require for educational delivery
- Retention after course completion, or re-acquisition without cost, of items such as cellphones or computers, whether or not legal title is transferred. This includes situations where learners require items, or the items are advantageous, during the course
- Retention after the course completion, or acquisition without cost, of computer software licenses
- The opportunity to win items such as computers, including when nominal eligibility conditions are attached
- Services such as travel or accommodation
- Vouchers redeemable for goods or services
- Dive equipment other than that agreed with us - see Individual ownership of items
- Fee-refund 'scholarships' available to all learners in a cohort that do not meet our definition of 'scholarship', especially where these are paid in cash to learners.
