Enrolment contract
An enrolment contract is formed when a learner accepts an enrolment offer by signing it, and then returns the form to the TEO.
It is an agreement between a learner and a TEO for a teaching period specified by the TEO, such as an academic year, which:
- establishes the basis on which a learner studies with a TEO
- protects the interests of the learner and the TEO
- specifies the period for a learner to withdraw with a refund of fees/course costs
- supports the TEO to claim SAC funding for eligible students
- is used by the learner to access student allowances and loans.
Learner breaches of an enrolment contract generally invalidate the enrolment for SAC funding, although exceptions are outlined in Rule ENR061[1].
