Workplace Literacy

Reporting requirements for TEOs

TEO[1]s receiving Workplace Literacy funding (including employee-targeted funding) must meet the following reporting requirements:

  • name the businesses and industries they are and will be working with
  • record and report NSN[2]s for employees participating in programmes
  • following completion of the TEC-funded programme, provide a summary of the capability and forward planning for individual businesses they work with to ensure businesses are able to continue delivering literacy and numeracy within their workplace. (This is not applicable where small numbers of staff are involved.)

Provider Obligations

TEOs are required to submit three reports for the calendar year in which funding is allocated. This includes two progress updates and one final report. The following reporting template should be used for both progress reports and the final report to provide a whole of year view of performance.

Progress reports

TEOs will need to submit updates on progress in relation to the specific delivery commitments outlined in their Investment Plan. These updates will include:

  • Number of learners (enrolled for the report period)
  • Learner hours (delivered for the report period)
  • Employer details (year to date – legal name, region of delivery, number of learners)
  • List of NSNs for all learners enrolled during the reporting period.

These progress reports will cover the following reporting periods for 2011:

  • 1 January - 31 May; and
  • 1 June - 30 September.

These reports are due to our Service Centre within 10 working days of the end of the reporting period.

Final Report

TEOs will also need to submit a final report on performance which provides data on the period covering 1 October - 31 December of the calendar year in which funding is allocated . This report will include the following information:

  • Total number of learners (enrolled)
  • Total learner hours (delivered)
  • NSNs of any learners not reported in previous updates
  • Summary of learner demographics
  • Declaration that confirms that:
    • every learner’s progress has been monitored
    • before and after assessments of literacy and numeracy have occurred, and
    • performance indicators have been met
  • Employer details (name, region of delivery, number of learners)
  • Agreed business outcomes and whether or not those outcomes were met
  • Description of business committment and expertise developed and implemented at the conclusion of the programme.

The report for 2012 funded programmes is due 31 January 2013.
