Student Achievement Component

Course size

A course's EFTS[1] factor equates to the course size, which is a portion of the total EFTS value of the qualification of which the course is part.

As a guideline, we recommend that the size of the smallest course should not have an EFTS factor of less than 0.1 unit. While TEOs[2] may choose to run smaller courses, if the course is based around a single unit standard and has a course EFTS factor of less than 0.1 unit, we do not require further disaggregation.

It is possible to report one qualification as one course but, from a funding perspective, this means that learners can only enrol in the whole qualification.
