We allocate SAC[1] funding as part of the usual Investment Plan cycle. To be eligible for SAC funding or learner access to student allowances and the Student Loan SchemeTEOs[2] must meet the accreditation requirements in Rule SAC010[3].

New PTEs[4] wishing to apply for funding should contact our Service Centre. However, the opportunity to access SAC funding for the first time is limited.

    Rule SAC010: TEO accreditation requirements for SAC and student allowances and Student Loan Scheme

    To access Student Achievement Component funding, or for, additionally, learner access to student allowances and the Student Loan Scheme, tertiary education organisations (TEOs) must be one of the following:

    • Accredited by the relevant quality assurance body to deliver the content of a qualification
    • Able to show that there is an arrangement in place with an accredited TEO to deliver any content for which the TEO does not hold accreditation.

    TEOs offering local certificates and diplomas that contain unit standards registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework must also be accredited by the relevant quality assurance body to deliver that unit standard content.
