Budget 2009 disestablishes the Special Supplementary Grant for Special Education from 2011.

Special Supplementary Grants (SSGs) are made available to eligible TEIs[1] for specific purposes.

SSGs continuing in 2010 include:

SSG: Māori and Pacific students and SSG: Tertiary Students with Disabilities are now part of Equity Funding

Any TEO[2] that receives funding must abide by a number of rules and conditions

Access to SSG funding will be considered in accordance with government policy, (as directed by the Minister’s determination under section 159L of the Education Act 1989), the Tertiary Education Strategy and in response to performance.
