No new applications for Quality Reinvestment funding are being accepted and the current appropriation expires in 2010.

The Quality Reinvestment fund (QRF), sometimes referred to as the Quality Reinvestment Programme, supports ITPs and wānanga in making changes to their portfolio of provision. The funding is aimed to help institutions build their capability and to deliver projects in line with the fund’s purpose.

The QRF is accessed by ITPs and wānanga.  There are now only a limited number of QRF projects in place, as this type of funding has been superseded by the Supporting Change fund.

Funding is allocated outside of the Investment Plan process, through a Funding Agreement, and the delivery of activities is monitored by us.

The monitoring and reporting requirements were negotiated individually with each ITP and wānanga.

The QRF also includes a capital component which is fully allocated.

Access to the QRF was considered in accordance with government policy, the Tertiary Education Strategy and in response to performance.
