Intensive Literacy and Numeracy

Monitoring and reporting

TEO[1]s that receive Intensive Literacy and Numeracy funding will report on, and be monitored against, the performance indicators and delivery commitments agreed with us through the Investment Plan.

Additional factors related to programme eligibility criteria may also be reported against and monitored.

From 2011, recipients of Intensive Literacy and Numeracy funding must use the Literacy and Numeracy for Adults Assessment Tool for those learners whose skills fall within the Learning Progressions. Evidence of learners improving their literacy and numeracy skills as measured by the Assessment Tool may also be considered by the TEC as part of measuring performance.

Monitoring

We may monitor the following aspects of delivery:

  • number of learners enrolled on the programme
  • number of hours learners attend the programme
  • learner NSN[2]s
  • individual learning plans
  • regions of delivery
  • Any other information required by us to monitor the achievement of outcomes.

Performance indicators

The following performance indicator will be mandatory in 2011:

Performance Indicator Minimum Achievement Level
Learner progress against the Learning Progressions for Adult Literacy and Numeracy A minimum of 80 percent of learners show an improvement in literacy and numeracy skills as measured against the Learning Progressions for Adult Literacy and Numeracy
