This fund is established from 2010, from the former Foundation Learning Pool. Read more.
Intensive Literacy and Numeracy (ILN) replaces the former Foundation Learning Pool. Its purpose has been refocused and reprioritised towards stronger literacy and numeracy learning gain.
The fund is being directed to learners with low level literacy and numeracy skills.
ITPs, universities, OTEPs, PTEs, schools and REAPs can apply for ILN funding.
ILN funding is aligned to a TEO's[1] Investment Plan. Delivery of the Plan is monitored by us.
Any TEO that receives funding must abide by a number of rules and conditions.
Access to Intensive Literacy and Numeracy funding will be considered in accordance with government policy, (as directed by the Minister’s determination under section 159L of the Education Act 1989), the Tertiary Education Strategy and in response to performance.
