Purpose
The purpose of Gateway is to strengthen the pathway for learners to progress from school to workplace learning. There is no cost to learners.
Gateway funding is provided to meet the costs that schools incur in arranging and managing workplace learning, including assessment. Schools can either directly manage the delivery of Gateway, or may engage a broker to provide all or part of the programme on its behalf. Funding may be used to meet the costs of a broker.
Gateway funding is not intended to be used to pay for courses delivered by tertiary education providers.
