Foundation-Focused Training Opportunities

Learner eligibility

The high-level requirements relating to learner eligibility are defined in Rule ENR134[1]

In order to be enrolled in Foundation-Focused Training Opportunities (FFTO) training, a learner must first be referred by a Work and Income case manager to the programme. As part of the referral process, case managers will use an assessment tool called the “Likelihood of Long-Term Benefit Receipt Predictor Tool” (LLTBR). The LLTBR tool will assist each case manager to determine whether a specific client should be referred to a FFTO programme or a Training for Work programme, or whether another programme or form of support is more appropriate.

There is detailed information on eligibility and the enrolment process available in the FFTO Handbook (PDF, 571 Kb).
