Monitoring

2010

Monitoring of progress toward achieving these equity outcomes will relate to the key performance indicators in the Investment Guidance:

  • Increasing achievement for Māori and Pacific students at degree and postgraduate level by strengthening pathways and enhancing support structures is a priority for universities.
  • Increasing progression rates for Māori and Pacific students from entry level to technician level and higher learning is a priority for ITPs.
  • Strengthening provision and achievement at diploma level and above for Māori students is a priority for wānanga.

2011

Monitoring of progress toward achieving equity outcomes will relate to the priorities specified in the Tertiary Education Strategy, including:

  • increasing the number of Māori students enjoying success at higher levels
  • increasing the number of Pasifika students enjoying success at higher levels

Equity funding will be monitored through investment plans and a focus on performance commitments means that annual reports detailing expenditure will not be required.

The key performance commitments sought are increasing participation, retention, completion, progression and achievement rates of Māori and Pacific students and students with disabilities.
