Adult Literacy Educator fund

Purpose

The purpose of Adult Literacy Educator (ALE) funding is to build the capability of educators or trainers to effectively teach adult literacy and numeracy by assisting them to access and complete qualifications.

ALE funding is available to eligible TEOs[1] to enable them to provide approved adult literacy and numeracy educator qualifications to eligible learners.

The ALE objectives are to:

  • provide funding to TEOs to build capability in the adult literacy education sector and to meet the literacy and numeracy needs of the workplace environment
  • contribute to the tertiary education system in line with the Government’s Tertiary Education Strategy.
