PBRF Quality Evaluation timelines – impact of the Canterbury earthquake

3 March 2011

Our thoughts are with the people of Canterbury as the recovery effort continues following last week’s devastating earthquake.

Clearly the earthquake has had a significant impact on TEOs and students in that region.

Over the next month, we will work with those TEOs affected by the earthquake to ascertain the likely immediate and medium-term impact on provision and students/trainees in Canterbury.  We recognise that decisions will need to be made about how to respond to a wide range of possible circumstances.

We are also assessing the impact of the earthquake on the next round for the PBRF Quality Evaluation in 2012.

At this stage we can advise that the panel selection process will not be concluded by mid-March as previously published. We are working to clarify the impact of this delay and will keep you fully informed of any changes made to the timetable of the PBRF.
