The Minister for Tertiary Education has released the Ministerial Direction on Compulsory Student Services Fees for 2012. The Direction regulates the use of compulsory student services fees at tertiary education organisations.
The Education Amendment Act 2011, which amended the Education Act 1989, enables the Minister to issue directions about compulsory student services fees, to ensure transparency in fee-setting and accountability for their use.
The summary of submissions that were made in response to the draft Direction outlines the key issues that were raised by submitters.
