The TEC taking part in the education system Performance Improvement Framework initiative

16 October 2015

The TEC will be taking part in an education system Performance Improvement Framework, which is a joint initiative between the State Services Commission and seven education agencies.

The other education agencies involved are:

  • the Ministry of Education
  • Careers New Zealand
  • the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
  • the Education Review Office
  • Education New Zealand
  • the Education Council (independent professional body).

The Performance Improvement Framework is a tested and robust tool, developed by the State Services Commission. It helps individual government agencies identify priority areas to lift performance. You can read more about the PIF methodology here.  This methodology will be adapted to identify priority areas across the participating education agencies.

We expect this initiative will help the participating education agencies work together more effectively as stewards, with a common vision and plan, to support every learner to be successful. This will benefit the whole education sector.

Once a plan has been developed, it will be shared with the education sector and the general public. This will be in 2016.
