16 October 2015
The TEC is bringing forward the final date for submitting updates for SAC and YG-funded Education Performance Indicator (EPI) for inclusion in 2015 EPIs to 8 April 2016.
This TEC Now provides a brief overview of what is happening. We will send you more details over the coming months.
Why is it changing?
Bringing this deadline forward means we will be able to report the published EPIs to you earlier than in previous years.
Good, timely information offers a number of benefits:
- the earlier due date for submissions will give you and the TEC a clearer picture of performance sooner. This will support more effective planning and clarification of your performance-linked funding
- it will allow learners, their advisors and the general public to compare relative performance between organisations earlier in the year
- the new timeline will provide the TEC, our Board and the Minister with an earlier indication of investment decisions.
Who is affected by this change?
All providers that submit their EPI-related Single Data Returns (SDR) will be affected. Most providers (85%) submit their performance data before the new deadline of the 8 April so this change should only affect a small number of providers.
When will this change take effect?
These changes will come into effect for the year-end EPI SDR submissions in 2016. The timeline below shows submission dates and where this date change takes effect next year.
Please note: If you are submitting qualification completions and course completions after the DEC SDR submission, use the separate qualification completions and course completions submission options.
How will I know what to do?
We will continue to communicate with you through your Investment Managers as well as the Sector Helpdesk who are here to answer your queries and support you through this change.
Refer to page 9 of the SDR Manual for details on how to submit.
