E lutia i Puava a i mapu i Fagalele - Navigating toward access in tertiary education

We play a key role in improving the tertiary education of all New Zealanders, including those who identify as Pacific peoples. 

'E lutia i Puava a i mapu i Fagalele' is an internal document that focuses on key priorities for the TEC in giving effect to the tertiary education strategy (TES) and its attention to Pacific peoples.

It guides our work with the tertiary sector and its contribution to Pacific development, progress and achievement.

In support of the Pasifika Education Plan 2009-2012, the TEC is focused on TES priorities for improving Pacific participation and achievement in tertiary education including:

• building strong learning foundations to ensure Pacific students participate, engage and achieve at each stage of their education
• lifting Pacific literacy and numeracy achievement in schools and at the tertiary education level
• increasing the number of Pacific students leaving school with qualifications to enable them to enter the workforce or go into further education and training.
